Bryan has been devoted to dachshunds his entire life. When he and Peggy moved to the countryside of Crystal River, Florida, they made a decision: build a program worthy of a breed they adore. AZ Doxies was born from that intention - not from a business plan, but from passion.
Every dog at AZ Doxies lives inside their home as a member of the family. No kennels. No corners cut.

Dachshunds are beloved for their spirited personalities and iconic silhouette — but the breed carries real health risks, particularly IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). Too many families have experienced preventable heartbreak. Bryan and Peggy made a commitment to change that. Every decision at AZ Doxies — from which dogs are paired to how puppies are raised — is guided by science, structure, and love for the breed.

From birth, AZ Doxie puppies are handled daily, surrounded by the sights, sounds, and rhythms of family life. They grow up on the couch, in the yard, and underfoot — exactly where dachshunds belong.
Early neurological stimulation protocols begin in the first weeks of life, giving each puppy the best possible start for confidence, adaptability, and health.
Every family receives education on spinal care, diet, and long-term wellness — because our commitment doesn't end at pickup.
